Terragen for Beginners Version 8
The Sun Conditions
I will do my best to explain this complex issue. First off, I have a flat terrain. If you haven't generated a terrain, please go back to my first tutorial and then
come back here.

This is my working terrain. The hardest part is getting the sun and clouds to get along.

Ok, here's where we start. There are 2 boxes that contain the "direction or heading" and the "altitude" of the sun.
The box on the left is the one you need to work with. You see the V with the line down the middle? Ok, now do you see the "red" line? That is your where your sun is.
If you don't want the sun to
stare at you, move the red line to the left or right, just a little bit. Sun still staring at you? Move the red line some more. You will have to "play" with this for a while. To have the sun in back
of you, move the line to the top of the V.

Now for the box on the "right." This is your "sun altitude." Right now it is set at default. Move the line "up" and the sun rises higher in the sky. Move it lower and you are close to the horizon.
Depending on where you place your sun will depend on how the sun will shine on the terrain.
See the 3 check boxes on the right? These cast shadows. I mostly use the first 2, cause they almost always work for me.
The sun strengh is set at default. Depending on your sun direction and altitude, you can increase the strengh if the landscape is not bright enough. Leave everything else alone. We will work on those
later.
I'm going to leave this page and wait for input. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions, concerns and mostly frustrations.
